Located in the Périgord/Limousin Natural Park the beautiful surrounding countryside is peaceful and quiet yet only minutes from town. Excellent birdwatching and walking. La Grange (sleeps 6-10) & La Petite Maison (sleeps 2-6) are two separate and individual stone houses, each with its own swimming pool. Both have been renovated to keep a tradition country farmhouse style. Located in the Perigord/Limousin Natural Park (Perigord Vert) in a peaceful & quiet setting, yet not isolated. The beautiful surrounding countryside has plenty of wildlife and wildflowers - particularly during May when wild orchids can be found in the hedgerows of the tracks. Excellent for bird watching (green & spotted woodpeckers, hoopoes, birds of prey) also rambling and walking. La Grange - a lovely, spacious converted barn with all modern amenities. Tiled entrance hall with separate toilet, fully fitted kitchen/dining area, very spacious lounge with a wood burning stove and French doors opening onto the patio. Stairs from the hallway lead up to a galleried landing with two large double bedrooms and three twin rooms, shower room, bathroom with toilet and having French doors to the furnished veranda overlooking lakes and woodland. The lounge doors open to the furnished patio area which continues round to the garden, BBQ and outdoor dining and private pool (10x5mts) Private driveway and parking. Sleeps 6-10. Cot and stairgate available. La Petite Maison - a charming stone cottage, tiled ground floor with a fully fitted kitchen and dining area, two steps down to the large comfortable lounge with wood burning stove and stairs leading to the master double bedroom with en-suite shower. Stairs from the dining area lead to a large twin room, double bedroom and bathroom with toilet. French doors from the dining area open onto the furnished courtyard, private driveway & parking, BBQ, garden and private pool (7x4mts) Sleeps 2-6. Cot and stairgate available. Each gite has a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave, TV, video, & Book and video library Lawn games. Bicycles available, boules, badminton, volleyball, archery (adults only) Bed linen and towels provided as is a « welcome pack » of essentials. Pets are welcome, well behaved variety preferred! Fully fenced garden & paddock. Location - Lapouge hamlet is 1 km from the village of St Estephe where there is a bakery, mini-market, post office and a recreational lake with beach & moored diving platform, boardwalks, picnic areas, and summer cafés & bar; in high season there is a lifeguard & free canoes/kayaks. Tennis & boules courts. There is an excellent Auberge 1.5kms. Local horse-riding and fishing incl. Carp can be arranged. Many historic sites & caves. Piégut - 4kms- has all facilities and an extensive Wednesday market. Teyjat - 9kms - has an International standard Kart & Quad track. Nontron - 9kms - famous for knife making, has all facilities and a good Saturday market. There is a varied program of local events throughout the summer. Brantome - 30min drive, a beautiful chateau town on the river has a good Friday market, canoe/kayak around the town or down river to Bourdeilles - another picturesque town with chateau. Climbing also available. Angouleme & Perigueux approx 45kms, Limoges 70kms, Cognac 80 kms.
