Recreation
On site boules, badminton, volleyball, football, lawn games, field archery (accompanied), bicycles.
Horse Riding
There is an excellent centre only 3 mins away for both experienced riders and absolute beginners.
Canoes
Available at several places, the most popular is Brantôme. You can hire a canoe, put all your dry clothes & valuables in a waterproof barrel, paddle to a pre-arranged destination (usually downriver!) and be picked up and returned to your starting point. A wonderful way to see bird-life.
Lakes.
St Estèphe 1km, has a lake with beach, boardwalks, tennis court, restaurant with bar, picnic areas & summer cafés. In July and August there are free use of canoes and kayaks, also a lifeguard. St Mathieu - 16kms, has a lake, swimming beach with picnic area, restaurant, fishing & pathway all around. There are many other lakes in the area.
Adventure park
« Les Ribières » - at Bussière-Galant 40minutes, is an adventure park with lake & picnic area, Vélorail (an open, flat rail cart pedal-powered!), mini-golf, tennis, little train, walking tracks and tree-top adventure trails (graded assault courses easy, medium & difficult) www.lesacrobois.com
Karting/Quads
There is an International standard track at Teyjat , 9kms, with a childrens track for 8-12yrs.
Markets
The biggest market is Piégut on Wednesday morning, Brantôme Friday & Nontron Saturday mornings. There are many other markets and farmers markets during the summer.
Fishing
Local recreational fishing & carp (serious!) fishing can be arranged .
Field Archery specialists. Learn to shoot recurve or longbow on site. Free tuition from 2008 French National Historic Longbow Gold Medal winner.
Have an afternoon out target shooting through woodland -5€ per person.
